Merlini Morels Morilles (Merlini Dried Morels) are considered to be amongst the best mushrooms ever, they are much appreciated by gourmet searchers for their tasty and characteristic flavor. Unmistakable for their "beehive" appearance and somewhat "sponge-like" structure, this commercial species presents a dark brownish color.
Morels mushrooms grow wildly on the border of conifer forests and on the bark of these trees.
Merlini Morels mushrooms are very precious not only in Italy: for centuries they have been, and still continue to be part of the French and Swiss cuisine. "Beef fillet with Morels" is in-fact one of the most requested dishes over the Alps.
Serving Suggestions: In Italian cuisine they are perfect for first course pasta and rice dishes, or cooked with eggs, meat and fish.
How to use: Rinse the mushrooms in luke warm water then soak them in a mixture of water and milk for approximately 20 minutes. Once re-hydrated they can be cooked at will.
