Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped
  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red pepper, finely chopped
  • 500g lean ground beef (room temperature)
  • 15 oz jar of Ceriello Homemade Marinara Sauce
  • 3 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chilli powder (adjust to your spice level)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 15.5 oz red kidney beans, drained
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Bring a large saucepan up to a medium heat with the olive oil, carrot, brown onion and red pepper. Stir for around 10 minutes, until the vegetables are soft.
  • Add the ground beef into the saucepan and use a utensil to break it up. Mix for around 5 minutes to brown the beef off.
  • Next add the Ceriello Homemade Marinara Sauce, spices and honey, then mix everything together.
  • Let this gently bubble for around 20 minutes with the lid on, mixing every 5 minutes. You may need to add a little water, depending on the desired consistency.
  • Finally, add the drained red kidney beans, mix thoroughly and cook for a further 5 minutes until heated through.
  • Serve the chilli on a bed of rice and topped with smashed avocado, coriander and sour cream.
